What we do
We’re a hive of industry and pride ourselves on our personal services - aiming to meet all your jewellery needs, from the most basic to the most complex.
Amongst other things we supply chains, plain bands, hoops and a wide selection of charms and charm bracelets. We also stock silver findings including earring backs, jump rings, catches and bales. We’re happy to adjust our own stock - usually at no extra charge - and we carry out a variety of repairs and alterations to jewellery – from ring resizing to bracelet repairs and much more - in all kinds of precious metals at very reasonable prices – starting from as little as £5.
We relish the challenge of a commission, so come in and have a chat with us about creating a piece of jewellery that is uniquely “you”. We stock precious metals including Silver, Gold, Palladium and Platinum. In addition to our stock of diamond engagement rings and wedding bands, our Jewellers Brian and Jenny can make rings – and many other items – to order in our workshop. Maybe you have a pendant you love and want some earrings to match? We can make some for you!

The Silver Lions
As well as being the proprietor, Louise has taught herself re-stringing and established a bead workshop on the premises – creating one off pieces using precious, semi-precious, silver and gold beads. Louise is a firm believer in training and education, encouraging her staff to take on apprenticeships, enabling them to nurture their personal skills in jewellery and engraving.
Brian, our senior jeweller, has 38 years experience as a jeweller having served his apprenticeship in Ham & Huddies, Newton Abbot. He has developed his own unique style, creating distinctive art nouveau style jewellery in coloured Gold and Palladium.
Employed part-time at the Silver Lion since 2002, Jenny is our apprentice jeweller. In 2006, having completed a degree in 3D design, she began working full-time in the workshop, learning the trade alongside Brian. Jenny is now responsible for the majority of our work in Silver and is currently training to work with Gold.
After starting as a part-time sales assistant in 2005, Sarah’s interest in design was recognised at the Silver Lion, and she was given the opportunity to undertake a hand-engraving course. She has been developing her talents as our hand engraver ever since.
